You can make a difference!
If you’re not able to adopt your own cat from the cafe, perhaps you know someone who can! Follow us on social media and share our posts with your friends. Bring a friend for a fun visit to the cafe and help them find a new feline friend!
As a non-profit, we rely on volunteers to operate the cafe. We do not have any paid employees at this time and we could not be successful without our friendly, caring volunteers. If you are a passionate cat person, we would love to have you as a volunteer!
We depend on monetary and in-kind donations to help make ends meet. Donations are used to pay expenses for the cats, as well as operating expenses (rent, insurance, utilities, pet supplies, etc). We regularly update our Amazon wishlist with supplies that we are in need of, as well.
Book Buddies is an educational program for students in grades 3 to 6 who are struggling readers. Children can improve their reading and fluency skills in a non-judgmental environment by reading to cats. Cats are great listeners! Students must read for at least 20 min. and may stay another 20 min. to hang out with cats. Bring a book or choose one from our Library. Parent/guardian remains with their child during Book Buddies time.
HOW TO SIGN UP: Parent must enroll their child first. Complete the application and have it signed by the student’s reading teacher. It can be mailed, emailed or dropped off. The Coordinator is a certified teacher, and she will contact the parent to go over how it works. The first visit is $10 and no cost after that. Student may attend once or twice a week, between 3:00 to 5:00pm on Wed., Thurs., Fri. or Sunday.
